Kent graduated from Ball State University in 1976. He went to Marion HS, in Marion, SC as a Teacher/Athletic Trainer. He then started Graduate studies at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and completed them in 1985 at IU. He settled at Franklin Central HS in Indy, serving as the Athletic Trainer from 1979-2003 and a Teacher until 2017. He was nominated as a Who-Who’s Teacher twice. He has worked at the Pan-Am Games here in Indy. He served as the first Secretary of the IATA(84-88). He has worked as the Athletic Trainer for the State All-Star Baseball (1987), State All-Star Softball Game(1991), and the State All-Star Football Game(1984). He was involved in many GLATA Conventions and served as Exhibit Chair (local) for the NATA 1990 National Convention. He was the State HS Athletic Trainer of the Year in 1990.
