Description
This course utilizes the IJATT CASE (Clinical Contribution to Available Sources of Evidence) outline to describe a validation case. The validation case focuses on a patient who experienced pain and disfunction following a TKA procedure while having a comorbidity of Parkinson’s Disease. The case highlights the rational for the clinical interventions, outcome measures, and existing evidence on this topic while providing information on the SFMA 4x4 exercise progression theory. This course provides a discussion on the need for physical functional capacity outcome measures to be used in clinical practice. In addition, this discussion highlightsthe role of the AthleticTrainer in an integrated, extended care plan for a patient with a TKA who has PD; a population projected to grow over the next 10 years.
