Mark Lahr earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University. Upon graduation, Mark began his career at Ben Davis High School in 1984 teaching mathematics. In 1986, he created the curriculum for an athletic injuries class that he has taught for over 20 years. Mark has served as Health and Physical Education Department Chair (2002 – 2007) and was instrumental in creating the physical fitness curriculum. In 1985, he was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer serving that position for over 20 years. Mark has provided athletic training services for numerous athletic training events including the 1999 Summer World Special Olympic Games, 1992 State AAU Girls Basketball, and White River Park State Games. He has taught at many student athletic training camps including Indiana Pacers Student Athletic Training Camp and Cramer Athletic Training Camp. Mark served as a state All-Star athletic trainer for softball (2004) and football (2008). Professionally, he has been involved with the IATA serving as chair for the IATA’s Annual Golf Outing (1992 –1993) and chair of the First Annual IATA Summer Seminar (1996). For years, Mark was also instrumental in organizing and implementing the IATA student Quiz Bowl held annual at the Fall meeting.
