Connie Pumpelly earned a bachelor’s degree from Cedarville College and a master’s degree at Indiana University. After graduation in 1981, Connie worked as an assistant then Director of Sports Medicine at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. In 1995, Connie returned to Indiana and began working at the University of Indianapolis where her charge was to create an athletic training student program and build the curriculum. Connie served the IATA as Communications Chairperson from 1999 to 2005. She has also served as a member of the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education Programs for over six years. Connie has served as a BOC test examiner (1997-2001) and has reviewed textbooks and publications for FA Davis. She has served as a guest lecturer for various organizations and as a volunteer athletic trainer for numerous events including the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament and the Atlantic Summer Olympic Games (1996).
