The Scholarship Committee of the Indiana Athletic Trainer’s Association (IATA) will award two $500 scholarships to high school seniors pursuing a college degree in athletic training at a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited college within the State of Indiana.

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 1


Applicants for the scholarship MUST:

• Have a cumulative letter grade average of “B” or better for high school course work.
• Will be pursuing a college degree in athletic training.
• Have an active interest in athletic training.
• Students should apply their senior year in high school.
• The scholarship will not be awarded until the fall semester of their freshman year, after they have enrolled in an Indiana CAATE accredited college.
• Applicants must have three written recommendations (on forms) from a licensed and certified athletic trainer (LAT/ATC) who is a member of the Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association (IATA), one from a high school teacher the applicant has had for course work, and one from the student’s community, that is a coach, employer, minister, etc.

Application Materials:

• Completed application form.
• Three completed scholarship application recommendation forms.
• Current transcript.

Application Procedure:

• The applicant must complete the application form.
• High school student applicants must be sponsored by a licensed, certified athletic trainer (IATA member).
• The applicant sponsor must complete the Scholarship Application Recommendation Form. The sponsor must complete the Scholarship Application Recommendation Form and return it via E-mail to jillewing@thecorydongroup.com by April 1 attention Jill Ewing, IATA.
• In addition to the applicant’s sponsor, the applicant must have two other Scholarship Application Recommendation Forms completed by a high school teacher who the applicant has had for course work, and one completed by a member of the applicant’s community such as a coach, employer, or minister. These individuals must complete the Scholarship Recommendation Form. They must complete the Scholarship Application Recommendation Form and return it via E-mail to jillewing@thecorydongroup.com by April 1 attention Jill Ewing, IATA.
• The applicant must E-mail a current transcript by April 1 to jillewing@thecorydongroup.com attention Jill Ewing, IATA.

Applications and Scholarship Application Recommendation Forms will be reviewed by the scholarship committee.

Scholarships will be awarded at the Fall IATA meeting.
